The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me! I am focused this year on exploring how home is recreated among displaced and resettled peoples, and learning what forms of cultural practices relevant to healing offer solace. Moreover, I aim to reflect on how the healing activities implemented by community organizations foster a sense of belonging and a new identity among refugees.

The trauma of being displaced – of feeling lost or alone – creates unexplored wounds that affect ideas of personhood. In the hopes of practicing pragmatic solidarity, I will be publishing refugee narratives and deep reflections through this website. Posts should be found through navigating the “Countries” tab. Please feel free to share with others and let us critically think about the current global refugee crisis and existing systems of disbelief.
